The IACJ is structured to support the work of advocates, providers and policy professionals focused on criminal justice work in Illinois. We're looking to bring together those with a commitment to public safety, justice and ensuring that there is quality, comprehensive services for people with criminal histories in Illinois.
Our goal as a professional association is to be a mission-driven and proactive voice for the criminal justice service needs of Illinois. We hope to bring education, understanding and attention to the best practices in reentry and community reintegration. As we all know, investment in successful reentry programs yields long-term cost-savings and both tangible and intangible benefits for our communities and our State at large. Your participation and energy is pivotal to ensuring that all of our collective voices and concerns are heard in the State of Illinois.
Here are a few benefits of membership:
Align and associate with your peers and experts while improving the conditions for clients and constituents. Whether you want to network and learn peer-to-peer or organization-to-organization, IACJ provides you with a host of diverse organizations who are all striving to achieve common goals in the field of criminal justice.
The members of the association provide a shared resource for monitoring pertinent legislative activity and best practices. Through meetings, conferences, newsletters and peer-to-peer communication, membership provides you a venue for inquiry, discussion and dissemination of pertinent criminal justice issues as they arise. As an organized body, the members of the association are also able to organize around specific issues and/or develop innovative responses to issues.
Distinguish yourself as a leader within the field. As the State of Illinois has always been a trendsetter in the field of criminal justice, being a member of a statewide association can build or enhance your corporate reputation and increase your visibility in the field of criminal justice.
As a collective, the association presents an organized body that will command the attention of elected officials at the state and local level. This provides association members with a common voice to elected officials on criminal justice issues. In turn, it provides elected officials with a forum for designing or testing public policy.
